Original Doctor Who Videos to get Make Over

Dear members and guests of Wrights Productions,

It is just over six years ago since our fist main stream acting series started production. This series was our Homemade Doctor Who Series 2005, originally named the Spring Series before editing schedules decided it wasn’t to be. Back in late March early April 2005, myself and a cast made up of Joe Scampion and Jack Wright decided to create home Doctor Who episodes in line with the BBC brining the show back at the same time. We carried on making them throughout a 2006 movie, a 2007 spin-off series and a final 2007-2009 series.

Since completing our Doctor Who saga at the end of 2009, it has become apparent that the story is best understood from watching the very beginning, or least the 2006 movie. This has meant that viewers need to go back to low resolution, low-key edits in order to enjoy our five year story. So we have decided to revamp the 2005 series and 2006 movie to co-inside with later productions from 2007 onwards. Once complete, all footage between 2007 and 2009 may get a lick of paint also, but only scene segments that need improving. This is due to many larger scenes having utilised the software to its maximum potential without any major room for extension or revision.

Another reason why the older videos look in bad condition is due to YouTube’s old upload mechanisms including file size limits and poorer processing quality. Since the show has been completed, we have also started uploading in HD resolutions of 720p for YouTube as well as gaining access to a Magix-powered video and audio effects database.

I think the five-year story featuring Joe Scampion, Jack Wright, Max Scampion, Ashley ‘Ash’ Street, Luke Robinson, Adam Wright, Sam Whitmore and Christopher ‘Chris’ Hoeft deserves a fresh look to maintain its presence in the modern web. The originals will be maintained online and cleaned up, for archive purposes.

Any comments or suggestions, please submit them below. I thank you for your support.

Website Facelift

Hi folks.

Over the next couple of days, you will notice sections of the website looking a bit brighter and semi-interactive. New sprite buttons are being implemented that enable us to bring hover-over buttons without loading delay for flicker, issues that have made us avoid them in the past. Button fonts are much more clearer in the new style, matching that of the logo in the sites header.

A general image gallery has been created for the Doctor Who / Torchwood saga. We are hoping to extend this into other franchises as soon as possible. Please note that unlike previous galleries in our older websites, this new site only features the ‘best-off’ images rather than the entire back catalogue.

Article Side Note: New Series

A new series has launched under the Nintendo Portal name, the Nintendo Portal Video series. Unlike previous outings with cast, this series features official videos from vendors like the official U.S. Nintendo Press Broadcast Room. It is also an ongoing production without yearly series dividers.

R.I.P. Elisabeth Sladen

Dear members and casual viewers,

Unfortunately, actress Elisabeth Sladen has passed away from cancer last night, 19 April 2011. Sladen was most know for her role in Doctor Who as companion Sarah Jane Smith. She played this character between 1974 and 1981 in the original era, and reprised her role in the new-style Doctor Who in 2006 and was an ongoing cameo character until December 2009. Sladen also had her own spin-off series since 2007 called The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Myself at Wrights Productions has produced a video to pay tributes to the actress, aged 63. Please click here to watch and leave tribute comments. Fellow actors and producers including Tom Baker, David Tennant, John Barrowman, Russell T. Davies and Matt Smith have already paid respects to the actress via video and audio links.

Step Back in Time 00′s is travelling to us

Step Back in Time | The 00sDear members,

Step Back in Time 90′s was a video which we launched some months back, going over the games, tv programmes, films and music we loved between 1990 and 1999. Step Back in Time 00′s is now with us, looking at tv, films, games, gadgets and political changes between 2000 and 2009.

Everybody’s support for the Step Back in Time brand of videos would be highly appreciated. We announced at the end of last year that WP would be stopping mainstream video productions, and with the exception of a few mini videos, Step Back in Time 00′s will be one of the last mainstream videos using late 2010 footage.

Click here for instant access to both parts of the show, 90s and 00s!

Kind regards,
Adam Wright

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Dear Tweaked and Wrights Productions viewers,

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas and a great new year. It has been such a pleasure talking and being involved with online fans since we started airing content in 2005/6. It is from this that I need to make the following statement.

Statement

After 7 fun years in developing home-made amateur video, time is to be called upon this duty. I have enjoyed the majority of my time doing the videos and I am sure home video will grow in the future. As of 2011, Wrights Productions will not be producing any large mainstream videos any more. Sadly this means that our Nintendo Portal TV Series and Total War TV Series comes to an end this December. External bodies or past cast members who produce video content for me will have there editing done by us as well as a site release. The odd small video will also still be produced by us including blog-like videos and one-off specials. An upcoming special which has been recorded over a year ago in various time slots is Step Back in Time, a 90s and 00s remembrance show featuring many cast members.

I hope that you still support us and the website will remain as a portal for our videos and Matthew’s videos.

Regards, Adam Wright

Page Restoring

About a week ago there was a targeted attack on our MySQL server that belongs to Tweaked for your Pleasure. While it only caused MySQL to crash and the attack was stopped, we have noticed some pages have been lost due to this.

We are looking into the backups and restoring the pages. This may take a little bit of time but they will be restored. Any questions then ask on Wright’s Productions Community Forums

Update (24 Dec 2010)

Most pages have been restored or re-created. We are now working on the one-hit video text pages which seem to be the old versions.

Halloween Special – Bump In The Night (Music Video)

Things That Go Bump In The Night

Hello! Happy Halloween. Yes it will soon be upon us once more. And haven’t we got a treat for you this year. Later we have a brand new production called Ghostly Stories with Adam and Matt (name TBC). This will show Adam Wright and Matthew Ellis in the outbacks sharing ghostly stories. But more on that later. Firstly, we have our one-off Halloween special music video. And what’s more…. we are running a prize competition alongside it.

Click here to see the video in question.

So for this competition, one winner is eligible to win £15 courtesy of Wrights Productions. I am also told by the Gods above me that TFYP is also throwing in a prize courtesy of Snat. A PayPal account will be required to receive the cash prize. So what you need to do is watch the video very carefully and tell us how many times Matthew Ellis appears as the White Ghost. Think you can do it? Why not give it a shot!

All the winners will be in a random draw. This winner will be announced on Halloween 31 October 2010 (Sunday). So keep the site in your favourites and be sure to check the results.
